Down Under...well, not yet

About 9 hours before we leave for the airport, I discover what I thought the day before to be a little bite of some sort, has now developed into what looks like a nipple on my inner thigh.  This is so wrong on so many levels.

My nurse friends who I played tennis with this morning screamed that I must head straight to the Urgent Care for an antibiotic.  The doctor there feels around the site and declares that she doesn’t think she needs to lance it.  WHAAT!  I can’t sit on a plane for 15 hours with new stitches on my inner thigh!  We opt for Keflex....whew.  As we are walking out she warns that I must be sure to watch that the ‘nipple’ doesn’t worsen.  Then, straight faced, she says she can give me a scalpel to take with me.  She got me good on that one as her face burst into a laugh.

Fast forward to the United Club at LAX.  We check in and are told we should go to the Polaris lounge instead, where all those who fork over a lung for their ticket are welcomed.  There we can have a sit down dinner and all is complimentary.  Now you’re talkin’.  Anyone who knows me, knows that Dom works very hard for our money so I can spend it for him.  He prefers not to know certain things and so I keep it that way.  This way he can enjoy the perks better.

So who should we see in Polaris but Brad Gilbert and Chris Fowler on their way to the Australian Open.  See you there guys!

We manage to sleep a few hours.  At 1:00am it was officially Dom’s birthday so I awakened to give him his card.

He was already enjoying his AirPods in the car on the way to LAX while he was on hold for Medicare to decline their services.  Turns out, my friends, he was told he didn’t have to call as he is still working and has a Health Savings Account with Disney.  Better safe than sorry.

  1. Oh good golly! Let’s hope you don’t have that nipple grow into a full grown boob! 😳
Let’s hope the antibiotic is enough.
God bless the perks on first class/business class air. Enjoy your trip and hope to see many photos!
